Fade Smoothly From One Slide to the Next
In addition to adding a Fade animation to the color photo to change from black and white to color, you will want to make smooth transitions from one slide to the next.
PowerPoint 2007
- On the Animations tab of the ribbon, select the Fade Smoothly transition.
- Set the transition speed to Medium if it is not already set.
- Set the slide to advance Automatically After: and choose the appropriate number of seconds for one slide to advance to the next. In this example I chose to advance the slide after 7 seconds.
- Click the Apply to All button.
- Lastly, to add a more polished look to your presentation, you may want to end your slide show with a black slide.
PowerPoint 2003 and earlier
- Choose Slide Show > Slide Transition
- Scroll in the list in the task pane on the right of the screen to select Fade Smoothly.
- Change the speed of the transition to Medium.
- In the Advance slide section, use the arrows to select approximately 7 seconds (more or less is fine depending on your selection of pictures), or type the number in manually.
- Click the Apply to All Slides button.
- Lastly, to add a more polished look to your presentation, you may want to end your slide show with a black slide.
