What is a Hyperlink (or Link) ?

Definition: A hyperlink, or as it is more commonly called, a link, allows the viewer to quickly access another screen on the computer by simply clicking on a text entry or a graphic object.

Hyperlinks in a presentation software such as PowerPoint or Open Office Impress can link to -

  • another slide in the presentation
  • another slide in a different presentation
  • a website
  • an email address
  • any other file on the computer
Also Known As: link
Examples: Mary created a hyperlink from the chart in her PowerPoint presentation that quickly jumped to another slide containing the data that was used to create the chart.
