Use Web Friendly Fonts

It is a good idea to stick to one font for your Web site. Rather than replace all the fonts individually, you can change them for the whole presentation at one time.

Use "Web friendly" fonts such as Arial, Verdana and Times New Roman. Every computer has those fonts installed, and therefore, your Web site will retain the look that you create. It is a temptation to use fun fonts. However, if the viewing computer does not have these fonts installed, other fonts will be substituted and the result may be entirely different than you intended, often making your whole Web page look askew.

Steps

  1. Choose Format > Replace Fonts... from the menu.

  2. Select a font from the drop down list in the With: section of the dialog box.

  3. Click the Replace button.
