What is Opazity?

Opazity is an add-in for PowerPoint created by Steve Hards. It enables you to create an out of focus area or transparency on your slide -- a feature that was missed in every version of PowerPoint so far. PowerPoint animations can then be added to create all sorts of interesting effects to make your presentation stand out from the rest.

There is a free seven day trial of the Opazity add-in available on the Opazity website. A full version is available to purchase for a reasonable fee.

  1. Download and install the Opazity Add-in for PowerPoint.

    • In PowerPoint 2000 to 2003, once you install Opazity, you will see the Opazity toolbar floating in your document.
    • In PowerPoint 2007, Opazity will appear on the Add-ins tab of the ribbon.
  2. Follow the instructions in the short manual that comes with the download.

On the following four pages, I have created different examples for you to get an idea of some of the many tricks you can have up your sleeve to easily enhance your PowerPoint presentations.
