Steps to Get Your Two Presentations Ready- Open your current presentation or start a new presentation.
- On the Home tab of the ribbon click on the New Slide button.
- Select Reuse Slides... located at the very bottom of the list of options.
- The Reuse Slides task pane opens on the right side of the screen.
- Choose one of the following options -
- Open a Slide Library - This option is only available if your company network administrator has set up the slide repository on the Microsoft Office SharePoint Library. If available to you, employees in your company can upload slides they wish to share with others and you can access them easily to use in your own presentations.
- Open a PowerPoint File - Search your own computer for a PowerPoint presentation that contains the slides you wish to use.
- Use the Browse button to locate the presentation on your computer.
- Open a Slide Library - This option is only available if your company network administrator has set up the slide repository on the Microsoft Office SharePoint Library. If available to you, employees in your company can upload slides they wish to share with others and you can access them easily to use in your own presentations.
Get Ready to Copy Slide(s)
Note - Copied slides will always be inserted after the selected slide in the active presentation.
- In the Reuse Slides task pane, right click on the slide you want to copy and choose from the following options -
- Insert Slide - This inserts the copied slide into the active presentation. The slide will take on the design theme of the
active presentation.
- Insert All Slides - This inserts all the slides into the
active presentation. All the slides will take on the design theme of the active presentation.
- Apply Theme to All Slides - Applies the theme of the copied slide to all the slides in the active presentation. This is helpful when you have a company format and want to retain that for all presentations.
- Apply Theme to Selected Slides - Applies the theme to the one slide you have chosen to copy.
- Insert Slide - This inserts the copied slide into the active presentation. The slide will take on the design theme of the
active presentation.
Save a Formatting Step on Reused Slides
If you intend to retain the formatting from the original slides in this new presentation, you can simply check the box for Keep source formatting at the bottom of the Reuse Slides task pane.
