Select Objects Quickly on PowerPoint Slides
Use the Keyboard to Quickly Select the Correct Object

By Wendy Russell, About.com

Sometimes your PowerPoint slides are very full and it may be difficult to quickly select the object that needs editing. You may have several graphic objects or several text boxes on a single slide. It is very easy to click on the wrong one, especially if one is stacked on top of another.

The quickest way to select the single object you want is to use the keyboard instead of the mouse.

  1. Make sure there are no objects selected on the slide. Either click outside the slide area (or you can press the Esc key to deselect all objects).

  2. Press the Tab key on the keyboard to cycle through all of the objects on the slide. Stop when you have selected the object you want to edit.

  3. Edit the object.
