Error message in unpack

© Wendy Russell

The Pack and Go feature uses technology from the early days of Microsoft Windows when filenames or folders (also known as directories) could only contain 8 characters and no spaces.

In the example shown, I have tried to unpack this presentation into a folder called Unpack which is located inside a folder called Pack and Go. The Pack and Go folder contains spaces in the name and exceeds the 8 character limit of the naming convention. As a result, PowerPoint returns an error message to that effect.
