Name the PowerPoint Macro

The Record Macro dialog box contains three text boxes

  1. Macro name - Enter a name for this macro. The name can contain letters and numbers, but must begin with a letter and cannot contain any spaces. Use the underscore to indicate a space in the macro name.

  2. Store macro In - You can choose to store the macro in the current presentation or another currently open presentation. Use the drop-down list to choose another open presentation.

  3. Description - It is optional whether you enter any information in this text box. I believe it is helpful to fill in this text box, just to jog the memory if you should look at this macro at a later date.
Click on the OK button only when you are ready to proceed, because the recording starts immediately once you click OK.
