PowerPoint 2010 Slide to Photo Conversion

When you create a wonderful slide show, full of photos with captions or other annotations -- possibly you used the PowerPoint photo album feature -- you can make these same slides available to others if they do not have PowerPoint as a program on their computer. This is done using one of the many Save commands in PowerPoint, and it is quick and easy.

  1. Choose File from the ribbon.

  2. Click on the option for Save & Send.

  3. In the middle pane, under the section heading File Types select the option Change File Type

  4. In the right side of the window, in the Change File Type section, look under the sub-heading Image File Types. Choose one of the two options listed.
    • PNG Portable Network Graphics (*.png)
This type of file format is best if you plan to print out the new photos (according to Microsoft).
    • JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg)
This type of file format has a quality that is meant for the screen or the web, but can certainly be used for printing as well.
  5. Click on the Save As button.
