Note - These instructions are intended for Microsoft PowerPoint 2003. All earlier versions of PowerPoint have design templates. They are just accessed using different steps than in the 2003 version.
PowerPoint has a number of design templates included with the program. Templates are usually applied to the entire presentation giving it a unified look. Having background colors or fonts change from one slide to the next during a presentation can distract your audience from the information on the slides.
