Add Information for the PowerPoint Text Email Link

Once the Insert Hyperlink dialog box appears, you will fill in the necessary information to appear on the email.

  1. In the column under Link to: click on E-mail Address.

  2. In the remainder of text boxes, enter the following data.
    • The Text to display: - If it is not already entered, type the text that will be the hyperlink on the slide.
    • E-mail address: - As you begin to type the email address, you will note that the text mailto: appears in front of the email address. This is the code that PowerPoint uses to indicate to the program that this is an email link. Leave this text intact.
    • Subject: - It is always a good idea to fill in this information. This will make it easy for you -- the presenter -- to know that this email came to you as a result of a specific presentation.
    • Recently used e-mail addresses: - If you have created any email hyperlinks prior to this presentation, those email addresses will appear here in a list. You can simply click on one of the addresses listed to save yourself typing that information.
  3. Click OK.
