Using Paste Special in PowerPoint

The Paste Special command allows for additional choices to be made about how or what is to be pasted into the presentation. In this case, we want to make sure that any information that is changed in the Microsoft Word document is always updated in the copy that is pasted into PowerPoint. This can be achieved by using the Paste Special command, allowing a link back to the original document.

  1. If you have not already done so in the previous step, copy the desired text from the Microsoft Word document.
  2. In PowerPoint, click on the Home tab of the ribbon if it is not already selected.
  3. Click on the drop down arrow under the Paste button on the left side of the ribbon.
  4. Select Paste Special...
