Change Existing Timings Set to PowerPoint Animations on Individual Slides

The scenario:
You have created a slide show and set all the timings on the individual slides by rehearsing the slide show. Now you want to change the speed or delay of one of the animations. How do you do this?

Even though you have rehearsed the slide show and saved all the timings during the rehearsal, you can easily edit individual animations on any given slide.

  1. Click on the slide to which you want to make changes, so that it is the active slide.

  2. Click on the Animations tab of the ribbon.

  3. Look to the Timings section at the right side of the ribbon.
    • Start options:
      • On Click: The animation will begin when the mouse is clicked (or at a set timing)
      • With Previous: The animation will start at the same time as the previous motion, whether it is a transition set to the changing of the slide, or to the previous animation.
      • After Previous: The animation will begin once the previous animation has completed.
    • Duration: This is the length of time (in seconds) that the animation will be in play.

    • Delay: This is the length of time that will pass after the previous animation, before this new animation begins.
