Many students (and teachers) are already groaning that summer is over and they are back to school. Where I live, the big day doesn't start until September 4^th, so I still have a reprieve. This summer has been fabulous -- weather-wise -- so the kids will love to tell everyone what they did on their vacation.

So how about easing into the learning experience and get the kids writing about their summer holidays? I have created a sample story and a blank story template for each of the four seasons. Use them in your classroom and get right down to business with story writing. Literacy is such an importance focus in the schools.
